September 2020 Stated Meeting – Fort Worth

The September TLR Meeting will be held in Fort Worth, TX on September 19th. The meeting will be hosted by Fort Worth Lodge No. 148 in the Fort Worth Masonic Temple in downtown Fort Worth. Worshipful Master Billy Hamilton promises great fellowship, but due to COVID-19 restrictions meals may not be permitted in the building.

Fort Worth Lodge No. 148 meets in the Fort Worth Masonic Temple located at 1100 Henderson Street, Fort Worth, TX.

The Stated Meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 19th in the Fort Worth Masonic Temple.

March 2019 Stated Meeting – Houston

Election and Installation of Officers will be held at the next stated meeting for Texas Lodge of Research on March 30th, 2019 at the Houston Scottish Rite Temple, 2401 W. Bell Fort, Houston, TX 77054 (map).

Our June Meeting and Anson Jones Lecture will be by Stephen Doan and will take place at the Fort Worth Scottish Rite on June 15th. Details on rooms to follow.

December 2018 Stated Meeting – Weatherford

Please mark your calendar for our next meeting on December 15, 2018 at Phoenix Masonic Lodge No. 275 in Weatherford, Texas. The address is 1009 Palo Pinto St, Weatherford, TX 76086 (Map). Lodge will open at 10:00 AM.

The December Meeting will mark TLR’s 60th Anniversary. I will be presenting a lapel pin to members in attendance to commemorate the event.

We anticipate three papers will be presented at the meeting. One paper will be philosophical,one symbolic, and one historical.

The host HOTEL will be the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Weatherford. The Texas Lodge of Research Group Rate is $104.00/night. Please book your room by calling 817-599-4040 and requesting the Texas Lodge of Research Group Rate.

Anson Jones Lecture, Stated Meetings

June 2018 Stated Meeting – Kerrville

The Summer TLR Meeting and Anson Jones Lecture will be held in Kerrville, TX on June 16th at Kerrville Lodge No. 697.

Kerrville Lodge meets at 119 Methodist Encampment Rd., Kerrville, TX  78028 (Map).  A room block is held at La Quinta Inn & Suites.  The TLR rate is $143.00/night and can be booked through La Quinta Group Reservations at (866) 527-1498 under Texas Lodge of Research (confirmation number 0778498).

Spring 2018 Stated Meeting – Dallas

The Spring TLR Meeting will be held in Dallas, TX on April 21st at Hillcrest Lodge No.1318. NOTE the date change. APRIL 21st NOT in March. Because of many conflicts, the Texas Lodge of Research voted to change our meeting from March to APRIL. Mark APRIL 21, 2018 in your calendar.

Hillcrest Lodge meets at 8525 Midway Road in Dallas, TX (map) with phone number 214-937-9156 if you get lost. A room block is held at Embassy Suites Love Field, 3880 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas 7522, Dallas.  The TLR rate will be $145/night which is $16 less than the current AAA and AARP rate being offered online.  A hospitality room will be open Friday evening in the hotel. The Friday evening no-host dinner will be decided soon.

The Stated Meeting will be held at 9am on Saturday, April 21st at Hillcrest Lodge after the breakfast. We will have two or three papers and then lunch will be available for a donation of $12. Installation of Officers will be held after lunch.

The September TLR Meeting will be held in Waco, TX on September 16th at Baylor Lodge No. 1235 for our first York Rite Symposium. The meeting will be hosted by Baylor Lodge in the York Rite Building in downtown Waco. Worshipful Master Josh Waller promises great food and fellowship.

Baylor Lodge meets in the York Rite Building located at 722 Washington Ave., Waco, TX with phone number 254-644-6336 if you get lost. A room block is held at Holiday Inn Northwest, 1801 Development Boulevard, Waco. The room rate is $249 to $260. The Friday evening no-host dinner will be at Heitmiller’s across the freeway at 7 pm. (254-867-1400)

June 2017 Stated Meeting & Anson Jones Lecture – San Antonio

The June TLR Meeting will be held in San Antonio, TX on June 17th at Alzafar Shrine Temple for our Annual Anson Jones Lecture. The meeting will be hosted by Alamo Lodge No. 44. Worshipful Master Anthony Harris promises great food and fellowship. Our Anson Jones Lecturer is Joe Harrison, Past Grand Master of Tennessee (see related article).

Alzafar Shrine is located at 901 N. Loop 1604, San Antonio, TX with phone number 210-496-1625 if you get lost. A room block is held at Hampton Inn – Northwoods, 2127 Gold Canyon Dr. San Antonio, down the loop. The room rate is $119. Call the hotel at 210-404-1144 and ask for the TLR Rate.  The Friday evening no-host dinner will be at a nearby restaurant at 6pm.

March 2017 Meeting Minutes

The March TLR Meeting will be held in Dallas, TX on March 18th at the Dallas Scottish Rite Temple for our Annual Election and Installation of Officers. The meeting will be hosted by Knox-Corinthian Lodge No. 851. Worshipful Master Bill DuBois promises great food and fellowship.

The Dallas Scottish Rite Temple is located at 500 South Harwood, Dallas, TX with phone number 214-748-9196 if you get lost. A room block is held at Hotel Indigo, 1933 Main, Dallas, down the street. The room rate is $139. Call the hotel at 214-741-7700 and mention rooms for “Dallas Scottish Rite”. The Friday evening no-host dinner will be at El Fenix in downtown Dallas at 1601 McKinney.
The Stated Meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 18th in the Blue Room of Scottish Rite after the breakfast in the Presidents’ at 9am. Lunch will also be in the Presidents’ Room for a donation of $12. The Installation of Officers will be held in the Blue Room at 2pm after which TLR will close.

Everyone is invited to the Texas History Celebration hosted by Dallas Scottish Rite at 5pm to view artifacts. A dinner will be served at 6:45pm followed by a lecture by Dr. Gregg Dimmick on the aftermath of the Battle of San Jacinto. We have two reserved tables for TLR. Contact David Dibrell if you wish to reserve a spot.
