March 2017 Stated Meeting – Dallas

March 2017 Meeting Minutes

The March TLR Meeting will be held in Dallas, TX on March 18th at the Dallas Scottish Rite Temple for our Annual Election and Installation of Officers. The meeting will be hosted by Knox-Corinthian Lodge No. 851. Worshipful Master Bill DuBois promises great food and fellowship.

The Dallas Scottish Rite Temple is located at 500 South Harwood, Dallas, TX with phone number 214-748-9196 if you get lost. A room block is held at Hotel Indigo, 1933 Main, Dallas, down the street. The room rate is $139. Call the hotel at 214-741-7700 and mention rooms for “Dallas Scottish Rite”. The Friday evening no-host dinner will be at El Fenix in downtown Dallas at 1601 McKinney.
The Stated Meeting will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 18th in the Blue Room of Scottish Rite after the breakfast in the Presidents’ at 9am. Lunch will also be in the Presidents’ Room for a donation of $12. The Installation of Officers will be held in the Blue Room at 2pm after which TLR will close.

Everyone is invited to the Texas History Celebration hosted by Dallas Scottish Rite at 5pm to view artifacts. A dinner will be served at 6:45pm followed by a lecture by Dr. Gregg Dimmick on the aftermath of the Battle of San Jacinto. We have two reserved tables for TLR. Contact David Dibrell if you wish to reserve a spot.

December 2016 Stated Meeting – Quitman

The next meeting of Texas Lodge of Research will be December 17, 2016 and will be hosted by Flora Lodge No. 119 in Quitman.

The host hotel for this meeting will be the Best Western Hotel in Mineola, TX. The Lodge in Quitman is 9.3 miles from the Hotel. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel directly at 903-569-5331. Please note that the 800 number for Best Western will not have a record of the room block. Our room rate for the event is $89.99 plus applicable taxes.

Social hour will, as usual, be at 4:00 pm with dinner somewhere around 6:30 or 7:00 at a restaurant to be determined.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 Saturday morning with a catered meal at noon. The price of the meal will be $8 to $10 which is in line with our usual donation. The meeting should be concluded by 3:00 pm.

September 2016 Stated Meeting – Georgetown

Brethren, the next meeting of Texas Lodge of Research will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at San Gabriel Lodge in Georgetown, Texas.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with San Gabriel Lodge, it is located at 900 N. College. The Lodge’s website can be found at http://sangabriel89.org/.  The host hotel for the weekend will be Comfort Suites of Georgetown. The hotel is located at 11 Waters Edge Circle. We have reserved a block of rooms at the bargain price of $99.00 plus tax and any fees. Rooms may be reserved by calling the hotel directly at 512-863-7544 and asking for reservations in the Texas Lodge of Research block. The cutoff date for reservations at this price is midnight September 1, 2016.

The agenda for the weekend will follow the usual pattern. At 4 p.m. Friday, September 16 the hospitality room will be open for business. Please come by and socialize. At around 6 p.m. we will depart for Gumbo’s restaurant in historic downtown Georgetown for Dinner. Gumbo’s is located at 701 S Main St.

On Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. a light breakfast will be served at San Gabriel Lodge. Then at 10:00 a.m. Texas Lodge of Research will convene its stated meeting. While we are conducting our business, the ladies of the Order of The Eastern Star have arranged a short tour of historic downtown Georgetown for any of our ladies that would be interested. So Brethren, please bring your ladies. They will have a great time.

At noon, lunch will be served at the Lodge by the Eastern Star Chapter. The usual donation of $8.00 is requested.

Immediately following the noon meal, we will assemble in the Lodge room for presentation of research papers. This will be an open meeting and everyone is invited to attend. We should be able to close the Lodge by 3:00 or 3:30.

June 2016 Stated Meeting & Anson Jones Lecture – Houston

The annual Anson Jones Lecture meeting of Texas Lodge of Research will be held June 17-18 in Houston.

The host hotel for the meeting is the Crown Plaza River Oaks. Located at 2712 Southwest Freeway in Houston.

A block of rooms has been reserved under Texas Lodge of Research. The room rate is $79.00 plus tax. Self-Parking overnight is available for $5.00 per vehicle per day with in and out privileges. To make reservations, please call 800-227-6963 and ask for reservations to book rooms under the Texas Lodge of Research Organization block. Reservations must be made before the cut-off date of June 3, 2016 to guarantee the group rate.

The meeting on Saturday will be at Holland Lodge #1 and will begin at 10:00am. The Lodge is not far from the hotel and is located at 4911 Montrose Boulevard (Map). Lunch will be served by Holland Lodge with the usual donation requested.

This year’s Anson Jones Lecturer is Joe Wages. Brother Wages was the Truman lecturer for the Missouri Lodge of Research in the spring of 2014 and lectured for the Michigan Lodge of Research in October of that same year.

Brother Wages currently has two books in print: 1) The Secret School of Wisdom: The Authentic Ritual and Doctrines of the Illuminati and 2) Rituels et doctrines authentiques des Illuminati : Une école secrète de sagesse. He is currently preparing the following books: 1) The Columbian Illuminati, 2) Reforming the Illuminati and 3) On Materialism and Idealism.
In 2015 he attended the Committee on the Francken Manuscripts at the Grand Orient de France. The event was sponsored by the International think tank of the Policy and Studies Organization Group. At this event, his book received their Regulus Award for Distinguished Service.

He has also lectured at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France, for the International Masonic Conference hosted by the PSO Group, the 2015 WCFFH conference and has lectured at many Lodges in America and in Europe as well.

March 2016 Stated Meeting – Plano

The next meeting of TLR will be held in Plano, Texas on March 18 & 19, 2016 at which time we will have our annual election of officers and installation. Should tradition prevail, I will be moving to the east where Brad Billings has so regally reigned for the past year. Thank You Bradly Scott for a job well done.

The host hotel for out of town members is the Hilton Garden Innlocated at 1001 West President George Bush Turnpike. Reservations may be made by calling the hotel directly at 972-792-9393.

Although the original announcement of this event indicated that a hospitality suite had been reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn, Lynda and I would like for those of you that will be attending the hospitality event to meet at our home from 5:00 pm till 6:30 pm for the social event and enjoy an adult beverage or two. After the social hour we will adjourn to Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant for a family style Italian meal. Lynda and I will be honored for you to be our guest for the meal. After the meal, our Grand Musician, Michael Cote will entertain us. It’s going to be a rocking good time. The address of the restaurant is 6001 West Park Blvd. Plano, TX 75093. While Lynda and I are happy to provide for the meal, there will be a cash bar available for those who wish to partake.

The stated meeting will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Plano Masonic Lodge #768. The Lodge is located at 1414 ½ J Ave in Plano. Right in the middle of historic Downtown Plano. Directions to the Lodge can be found on the Plano Lodge Web Site www.planomasoniclodge.org.

During the morning stated meeting, the ladies are invited to assemble in the Museum and Library on the lower floor for a program prepared by Lynda McKay. If you want to lift the appearance of your house or building, you can view different types of marble for your floor here. The noon meal on Saturday will be served in the Museum and Library located on the first floor of the Lodge Building and will be catered by the great kitchen staff of Plano Lodge. A donation of $8.00 will be appropriate for this meal.
